She dubbed this his \u201cplacenta perm.\u201d<\/p><p>As Lucio grew, so did his mane. By three months, he had a halo of curls. As one person joked, \u201cBaby got an entire roller set and I\u2019m sitting here bald. However, some babies, like Lucio, don\u2019t lose all of theirs. Experts aren\u2019t exactly sure <a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/baby\/why-are-some-babies-born-with-a-lot-of-hair\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><u>why this happens<\/u><\/a>, though it\u2019s generally believed that genetics, prenatal development, and hormone levels play the biggest roles.<\/p><p>In an interview with <em>Newsweek <\/em>(that currently doesn&#8217;t show up on their site), Perry further shared that while no signs of Lucio&#8217;s hair popped up during any ultrasounds, there were other \u201cold wives\u2019 tale\u201d omen, including an itchy stomach and some acid reflux. Hence why someone quipped, &#8220;I know that heartburn was killing you&#8221; in the comments.<\/p><p>Perry admitted that because Lucio\u2019s hair has the unique character trait of being \u201csuper curly in the front and straighter in the back\u201d (which makes sense, as most curly-haired folks have <a href=\"https:\/\/curlshoppe.us\/blogs\/curl-care-club\/multiple-curl-patterns\" target=\"_blank\"><u>different levels of curliness<\/u><\/a> on their noggin), it makes things a little harder to style. But luckily, grandma is mostly in charge of that.<\/p><p>&#8220;My mom is the master braider for him,&#8221; Perry said. &#8220;He will get fussy if I try to touch his hair, but will sit just perfectly for grandma!<\/p><p>Regardless, that iconic look is worth all the fuss in the world.<\/p><p>And if you\u2019re wondering. No, there are zero plans to cut Lucio\u2019s hair. Until he asks for it, that is.<\/p><p>Sometimes what makes us unique takes time to discover and cultivate. And other times, we are simply born with it.<\/p><p>Lucio turned two on September 23rd, and Perry shared a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@jchellestryingherbest\/photo\/7553448739059420471\" target=\"_blank\">sweet video<\/a> about her <a href=\"https:\/\/americanpregnancy.org\/getting-pregnant\/pregnancy-loss\/what-is-a-rainbow-baby\/\" target=\"_blank\">rainbow baby<\/a> and how much joy he brings her (and all of us).
